Palava in collaboration with PEDL (‘Zoomcar’) launched smart cycle sharing service in Palava on 9th December’17. At present, PEDL has put 200 cycles in Palava and around 30 parking spots have been set up to pick up/drop bicycles. PEDL has completed more than 50,000 trips in Palava so far with more than 11,000 unique users. The launch of bicycle sharing complements Palava's pedestrian/bicycle friendly design and furthers our commitment to provide eco-friendly transport options to our residents.
The system provides a completely digital interface and starting/ending a trip, payments, finding available bicycles can all be managed via the dedicated app. In addition, PEDL cycles come with various unique features including but not limited to custom designed aluminum alloy frames and drum brakes, anti-slip chains, airless solid tires, and height adjustable seats. The cycles are built with smart locks which are easily unlocked using a QR Code and are charged from a solar panel.
In an effort to make governance in Palava more participative, a ‘Smart citizen feedback’ system was recently launched in Palava. Now, citizens can give real time feedback on city services via LCD touch screens and QR codes installed at multiple locations in the city. Till now we have received more than more than 3000 responses from citizens for our clubhouses and internal bus service. Based on the feedback received, various initiatives have been identified to further improve city services and improve customer satisfaction.
Palava has launched ‘Cashless Cardless Palava' - a program under the government's Aadhaar Pay scheme which would allow our residents to pay just via the touch of a finger at any retailer inside Palava. The retailers can participate in the program at zero cost (Zero enrolment fees, zero device/set up fee, zero transaction fee) and can provide their customers a convenient option to pay. To rollout the scheme in Palava, we have partnered with Fingpay, a technology company, which is also one of the startups at Palava Accelerator.
